Hi it's me Kura! Nice to meet you. Kura is a self reflection app that will make people take care of Kura's beach by answering questions based on their lifestyle.

In Apple Developer Academy, I teamed up with a lot of talented people that is Vincent Anderson Ngadiman (Project Manager), Sheila and Avenia (Designer), and Habib and Aldo (Tech). We were teamed up because of our same interests which is food, but after doing some research we decided to change our topic because we were not able to find any problems in that topic. So after discussing again with our team, we decided to go with Environment because our team are concerned about the issues that arises in the environment right now. We decided to do something about it.

The result is an app called Kura, which is a self reflection app that will make people take care of Kura's beach by answering questions based on their lifestyle. The condition of the beach will change according to the user's answers about their daily activities. We want to change people's action which by our research we found that changing people's behavior is hard. So we make our approach as frictionless as possible so the user doesn't feel less motivated. We try to make them have more empathy little by little so they can take a small step to action. Kura App will help us deliver the message that "your actions matters, even small ones".

During development of Kura, I learned a lot about UIKit animations. UIKit really is a powerful framework, you can make most of the work done just by using UIKit. We considered using SpriteKit but decided to use UIKit because we thought that SpriteKit might be a little to overkill for what we were trying to achieve. We don't use any physics, or collisions in our app so we stick with UIKit. I also learned about custom transition animations, View Controller Lifecycle (didLoad, willAppear, etc.), a little bit of CoreData, UserDefaults, and many other fun stuffs.

After completing most of the core development of Kura, we gathered feedbacks from user using the TestFlight which was really cool! we get to distribute our app to users and gain lots of feedbacks. We then iterate our app using the feedbacks gained. I'm happy and proud of the result of this challenge which is Kura! I couldn't have done it without my amazing team! Thank you all of you guys, you guys rock!

In developing Kura, my role is as an engineer mainly implementing dynamic environment changes, scoring logic, persistent data, and also animations. Developing Kura was a lot of fun for me and my team, we're happy to announce that Kura is now on the TestFlight and on it's way to the App Store hoorayy! I'll be updating the page as soon as Kura is on the App Store.
